“Phishing” (pronounced fishing) is a criminal activity where email is used to try to lure you to fake websites where you are asked to disclose confidential financial information, like passwords, account and debit card numbers, or Social Security numbers. The email is sent by phishers masquerading as a trustworthy entity, such as Citizens State Bank. These emails may even contain legitimate looking logos or links to other websites.
