Don't Take the Bait!
Don't Take the Bait!
“Phishing” (pronounced fishing) is a criminal activity where email is used to try to lure you to fake websites where you are asked to disclose confidential financial information, like passwords, account and debit card numbers, or Social Security numbers. The email is sent by phishers masquerading as a trustworthy entity, such as Citizens State Bank. These emails may even contain legitimate looking logos or links to other websites.
CSB will never email you and direct you to another website.
CSB will not threaten to close or suspend your account if you do not take immediate action by providing personal information by email.
CSB will never email you and ask for sensitive information, like account numbers and passwords.
CSB will not notify you by email that your account has been compromised or that there are unauthorized charges to your account.
If you think you may have received a suspicious looking email about your bank account, please contact your local branch before responding to the email. The internet is and will continue to be the source of many new opportunities. But, don’t get reeled in by these phishing emails using your bank account as bait.
